Import Contacts

Overview

Import contacts from a CSV file to quickly add multiple records at once. The import runs in the background, so you can continue working while it processes.

Download the CSV template

Start with our template to ensure your data is formatted correctly.

  1. Open Settings from the main navigation.

  2. Click Import Contacts.

  3. Click Download Template.

  4. Open the file and add your contact data.

Supported fields

The CSV template supports these columns:

Basic information: - first_name, last_name, company, job_title, birthday, is_company

Email addresses (up to 3): - email_1_type, email_1_value - email_2_type, email_2_value - email_3_type, email_3_value

Phone numbers (up to 3): - phone_1_type, phone_1_value - phone_2_type, phone_2_value - phone_3_type, phone_3_value

Addresses (up to 2): - address_1_type, address_1_street, address_1_city, address_1_state, address_1_zip, address_1_country - address_2_type, address_2_street, address_2_city, address_2_state, address_2_zip, address_2_country

Links (up to 3): - link_1_type, link_1_value - link_2_type, link_2_value - link_3_type, link_3_value

Upload your CSV

  1. Open Settings from the main navigation.

  2. Click Import Contacts.

  3. Click Choose File and select your CSV.

  4. Click Import.

Maximum file size: 10 MB.

Check import status

After starting an import, you can monitor its progress.

  1. Open Settings from the main navigation.

  2. Click Import Contacts.

  3. Find your import in the list and click to view details.

The status page shows: - Total rows processed - Successful imports - Failed imports with error details

View import history

All past imports are listed on the Import Contacts page. Click any import to see its results and review any errors.

Tips

  • Check for duplicate headers in your CSV before uploading.

  • Use the exact column names from the template.

  • Leave columns blank if you don’t have data for them.

FAQs

What happens if a row fails? The import continues processing other rows. Failed rows are logged with specific error messages so you can fix and re-import them.

Can I import contacts into a list? Yes. When starting an import, you can optionally select a list to add the imported contacts to.

How long does an import take? Most imports complete within a few minutes. Larger files may take longer. You’ll see the status update as rows are processed.
